Pantomime is a play in which the performers express themselves mutely by gestures, often to the accompaniment of music.
Before the performance day, everybody cooperated. We’re having our rehearsals during our free time. Everyone is sharing their ideas, we have overflowing ideas already that we really don’t know how to fit that all in. We put a lot of effort in making the pantomime and to make it beautiful. The sound effects were all set and one of my classmates will operate it while the play was going on. We don’t have any costume, we just used out P.E. uniforms.
Everything was set, everyone’s quiet. Then the play begins. I can feel that all of my classmates are enjoying including me. We really enjoyed the whole play because it’s so funny. We can’t control ourselves not to laugh. There are parts which are not that clear but it’s alright. Background music helped a lot because we’re not using speeches or we do not speak. Everyone did their best to make this pantomime the best!
I can’t really say that we have performed a good pantomime since Ma’am May is quite disappointed about what we did. We’re supposed to make it a comedy play but our piece is so serious that comedy isn’t fitted to it. We did everything to make it a comedy but it didn’t work. If she hasn’t read the synopsis, she really can’t get what we want to say. She said that we enjoyed so much that we forgot to make the appropriate ones. It’s really funny with Emmanuel in there but our piece didn’t fit, it’s too serious. We're just first-timers so we’re not expecting a high grade but it’s alright as long as everyone enjoyed and everyone was happy.
